4/23/2013 - JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND -- The 433rd Airlift Wing participated in the 88th annual Pilgrimage to the Alamo--a memorial tribute to the Alamo heroes and the heritage of Texas held during Fiesta Week here April 22. A solemn wreath-bearing procession of historic, civic, patriotic, military and school groups departed from Municipal Auditorium and walked silently to the Alamo. The Alamo Mission Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas have coordinated the event since 1925. The 433rd AW leadership and honorary commanders paid tribute to Texan heroes by laying a wreath of flowers on the lawn in front of the Alamo.
