Band of AF Reserve returns from final deployment

3/8/2013 - ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga.  -- Six members of the Band of the Air Force Reserve returned home to sounds of cheering loved ones and the Air Force song played by an ensemble of their fellow bandsmen at the Macon Regional Airport March 8

The Airmen completed a nearly four-month deployment as part of the U.S. Air Forces Central Band "Total Force" that performed throughout the Southwest Asia theater of operations to audiences as small as five people to as many as 800.

Calling the deployment rewarding, many said they would gladly go again, "but not right now," said Senior Airman Michelle Hooper, who plays keyboards, keytar and accordion for the popular music group Reserve Generation and concert band.

This was the final deployment for the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve as it winds down engagements in preparation for deactivation at the end of  September 2013.
