8/24/2012 - A B1-B Lancer from the 7th Bomb Wing, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, closes in on a KC-135 Stratotanker from McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., during an air refueling mission, Aug. 23, 2012. The KC-135 featured a total force aircrew made up of members of the Air Force Reserve 931st Air Refueling Group and the active duty 22nd Air Refueling Wing. Several congressional staff members were onboard the tanker, participating in an orientation flight to learn more about the Air Force Reserve, the air refueling mission, and the Total Force Integration initiatives in place at McConnell. The KC-135 provides the core aerial refueling capability for the U.S. Air Force, and has been performing in this role for more than 50 years. (U.S. Air Force photo by 1st Lt. Zach Anderson)
