5/24/2012 - ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- An inspector general team on a military installation is not always viewed as good news.
That's not the case for the 440th Airlift Wing at Pope Field, N.C. Its IG office is the recipient of the 2011 General John P. Flynn IG Award. The Secretary of the Air Force IG named the office the best installation level program in the reserve component category.
The award recognizes the 440th AW/IG staff because it "effectively handled sensitive information that lead to more effective leadership in the wing and ensured that IG issues were answered promptly and correctly."
