3/20/2012 - WASHINGTON -- Maj. Gen. James F. Jackson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as chief of Air Force Reserve and commander of Air Force Reserve Command, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Jackson's nomination by the president was announced March 20 by Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta.
The general is currently serving as deputy to the chief of Air Force Reserve in the Pentagon.
The nomination is subject to Senate confirmation.
