22nd AF commander thanks members, wishes all safe holiday season

DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- As we look forward to this holiday season and the New Year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to each of you, your families and employers for the sacrifices you make for our country each and every day.

The holidays provide an opportunity to reflect on the daily blessings we take for granted all year long. We have experienced many changes and challenges over the past year. Yet despite the adversity, you all continue to push through and overcome. Thank you for your dedication, service and contributions to ensure the Reserve is such a vital part of our nation's defense.

As commander of 22nd Air Force, I am so proud of everything you all have accomplished this past year and the phenomenal impact you make for the Air Force and our joint partners at home and around the globe.

Please remember to focus this time on your family and those who are most important to you. I encourage each of you to use this time over the holidays to strengthen the relationships that enrich your life. Although the holidays are a time of celebration, the season can be a difficult time for some. Remember to look out for one another.

In this most jubilant time of the year, let's be sure to keep in mind those who are serving far from home. These valiant men and women are sacrificing much to protect our freedom so we can experience the joy of the holiday season. To those who will spend this special time of year far from family and loved ones, our thoughts are with you. The sacrifices you make earn the deep and abiding respect of Americans everywhere.

Please stay safe and know that so many look forward to your safe return.
Congratulations on a great 2014, and we look forward to continued success in the New Year. Happy holidays and season's greetings to all!
