917th Wing Honor Guard member picked for inauguration duty

A member of the 917th Wing, Senior Airman Reginald Ross, was selected to serve as one of the honor guard detail members to participate in the Presidential Inauguration on January 20, 2005, along with the United States National Honor Guard from Bolling AFB, DC.

Approximately 20 other honor guard member from around the world were chosen for this detail. Two of the duties they will perform throughout the inaugural festivities include ushering guest prior to the ceremony and marching in the four mile parade route.

“This will help the honor guards from out in the field to participate in ceremonies that they would not normally get involved in,” said Master Sgt. Nordyica Woodfork, Reserve Honor Guard director. The United States Honor Guard regularly performs high profile assignments in and around the Washington DC area. The also have the National Rifle Drill Team attached to them.

He will depart Friday, Jan 14 for Washington.
