Reserve, active duty team up at Bagram Published Feb. 26, 2016 419th Fighter Wing Public Affairs BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- From the flightline to the hangars, Air Force reservists in the 419th Fighter Wing’s operations and maintenance groups work side by side with active-duty Airmen in the 388th Fighter Wing on a daily basis. About 50 Airmen from the 419th FW have taken that teamwork to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, where they’re working with active-duty counterparts to support F-16 operations. This week, deployed maintainers worked together to check for corrosion on aircraft assigned to the 421st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron and complete an 8,000-hour rotary actuator time change during a phase inspection. The Airmen are deployed for between three and six months in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. The 419th Fighter Wing also has about 80 reservists from the mission support group currently deployed to various countries throughout Southwest Asia.
