Reservist receives Air Force honor guard award
WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio --
A reservist from here is the 2008 Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Base Honor Guard Program Manager of the Year.
Master Sgt. Mark Lyle of the 445th Mission Support Group was selected June 2. He is the superintendent of the Wright-Patterson AFB active-duty honor guard and has won Air Force Reserve Command's manager award for four consecutive years.
Sergeant Lyle's accomplishments in 2008 included coordinating 2,086 funerals and supporting of 291 color guard events within a six-state, 210,000 square mile area. He personally took part in more than 60 honor guard details. As a result of his efforts, the host 88th Air Base Wing Services Division received more than 800 letters congratulating the honor guard for its performance.
