AF Reserve legislative goals presented on Capitol Hill
Lt. Gen. Charles E. Stenner Jr., addresses more than 60 congressional staffers and military liaison officers at the Senate and House on Feb. 25. He discussed his top three legislative priorities: "Force Readiness, Force Rebalance and Force Support." The new priorities are designed to focus congressional policy discussions as the nation faces tough budget decisions in challenging financial times. "If you had unlimited funds, you could just keep the entire military on full-time status," said General Stenner. "But since we need to be cost-effective, we need to put certain amount of capability in the Guard and Reserve and call on them only when we need them." (U.S. Air Force photo/Col. Bob Thompson)
