Operation Noble Eagle was launched to protect the United States from further attack. Reserve F-16s, KC-135s, and Airborne Warning and Control System-supported patrols provided early warning services for the homeland defense mission. Reserve Airmen fly in Kosovo for NATO operation Allied Force.

Air Force Reserve brings humanitarian aid to Rwandan refugees.

July - Sept.1994 -- Air Force Reserve airlift and air refueling aircrews participated in Operation Support Hope, the humanitarian relief mission to aid Rwandan refugees. Here, an Air Mobility Command C-141 Starlifter assigned to the Air Force Reserve's 452nd Air Mobility Wing, March Air Force Base, Calif., at the Goma Airport provides a backdrop for a group of refugees who fled the civil war in Rwanda. The U.S. military flew in vital water purification equipment and relief cargoes to assist in the humanitarian effort.

Reserve C-130s Provide Comfort to Turks

By late April, Incirlik had shipped 22,500 short tons of food, water, clothing, shelter materials and support equipment to the Kurds. April 1991- 31 December 1996 -Air Force Reserve units contributed significantly to Operation Provide Comfort and Provide Comfort II, the effort to deliver relief supplies to Kurdish refugees in southern Turkey and northern Iraq.

July 1992 - Jan. 1996 -- Air Force Reserve C-130 aircraft and aircrews joined active-duty and Air National Guard aircraft and crews at Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany, to airlift desperately needed supplies and food into war-torn Sarajevo and Zagreb during Operation Provide Promise.
