OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. -- Hurricane Katrina ripped away brick and sheetrock from the first floor of the Senior Master Sgt. David Hufton's home here but left the second floor seemingly unscathed. He and his family had not even lived in the house for a month before it was destroyed by the hurricane. NEW ORLEANS -- With a combined force of 26 helicopters and about 400 people, pararescue teams composed of reservists and active duty Airmen are flying 8- to 10-hour missions over New Orleans' flooded city to save lives. Rescuing more than 2,000 people in five days, the pararescue teams locate and retrieve the residents, drop them off at a collection point, and then circle around again looking for more. MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Chief Master Sgt. Mike Harper (left) and Tech. Sgt. Daniel Barrera carry a patient onto an Air Force Reserve Command C-130 Hercules here Aug. 31.
