Pilot for a day
Thirteen-year-old Wyatt Maurer tries on a parachute harness and life preserve during his "pilot for a day" experience Jan. 11, 2009, at the 303rd Fighter Squadron. Wyatt was treated to a ride in the squadron's A-10 Thunderbolt II flight simulator, a tour of an A-10 plane and a day in the life of an A-10 pilot. The visit was made possible by the Greater Kansas City chapter of the Dream Factory, which arranges special memories for children with serious or chronic medical conditions.
