Reserve Officer Association 2012 National Security Symposium

Michele Flournoy, under secretary of Defense for policy, answers questions from the audience presented by Maj. Gen. Andrew B. Davis, U.S. Marine Corps, (ret.), executive director of the Reserve Officers Association, during the National Security Seminar on Jan. 30. Flournoy was the seminar’s keynote speaker and told the crowd of more than 400 that the size of the military is driven by DOD’s strategy. She went on to say that as DOD looks for savings, everything is on the table, but the new budget must maintain the quality of the all-volunteer force and not break faith with reservists, their families and their employers.
