5/16/2012 - HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- Ten Air Force Reserve recruits participated in a new training program here Saturday aimed at preparing them for Basic Military Training and life in the Air Force Reserve. The 419th Development and Training Flight hosted the recruits who are bound for BMT in the next several months.

New recruits attended a full day of DTF activities that included briefings on Air Force rank structure, customs and courtesies, and tips for successfully completing BMT. They also participated in team-building exercises, formation and drill procedures, and the Air Force's physical fitness test.

This new Air Force Reserve Command program will be in place at all AFRC units by late summer, according to Master Sgt. Shane Leavitt, NCOIC of the DTF.

"The ultimate goal is for recruits to prepare for and complete both BMT and technical school, and to establish a good foundation for a successful career in the Air Force Reserve," Leavitt said.

DTF also gives new recruits a chance to become familiar with the benefits available to them and their family members, he added.
