12/20/2006 - Master Sgt. John Conway, left, 939th Civil Engineer Squadron first sergeant and Maj. Michael Warrington, 141st Brigade Support Battalion commander Oregon Army National Guard talk with Army Sergeant John P. King about hospital food and getting a prime rib dinner after he was escorted by members of the Air Force Reserve Command's 939th Air Refueling Wing's honor guard through a line of Multnomah County Sheriff, Port of Portland police, and Portland Police Bureau honor guards who played the bagpipes and rendered salutes to welcome the young soldier home to Portland, Ore. Dec. 20, 2006. Sergeant King, who was wounded in Iraq in Aug. was given a 7-day pass from Brooks Army Hospital, San Antonio, Texas to visit his family during the holidays and will celebrate his 26th birthday on Friday before returning to the hospital from more treatment.
