U.S. Air Force Fact Sheet
CDC REACTIVATION AND RE-ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES
**Re-enrollments or reactivations are not authorized for personnel who failed their Career Development Course exam twice**
Reserve Airmen disenrolled from mandatory CDCs for noncompletion or were cancelled by student request will not be eligible to re-enroll or have the CDC reactivated without an approved request from the squadron commander. For request letter guidelines, see reactivation and re-enrollment procedures below and refer to AFI 36-2201, Vol 3, Chapter 8.
CDC Reactivation Procedures:
Approval authority is the squadron commander or equivalent if the period of disenrollment is 90-days or less. Reactivations beyond 90-days must be processed for group commander approval and can be accomplished only if the edition of the course that the student was originally enrolled in is still the active edition. There can only be one reactivation granted. Courses deactivated by the Air Force career field manager are not included. Trainee must complete the new course. To enroll in the new course addition, follow re-enrollment instructions below. Approved reactivation requests are forwarded via e-mail to the HQ RMG Military Training section at rmg.dpmt@us.af.mil. Military Training will forward the request to the Air Force Institute for Advanced Distributed Learning which will reactivate the enrollment for 90-days, and forward the course examination if needed. All reactivation requests must be signed, scanned and must follow the guidelines on the CDC Reactivation Request Example Letter. The request must fully document extenuating circumstances that justify reactivation. Any request for reactivation received at ARPC Military Training without proper approval or not in the correct format will be returned to the requester without action.
Note:
-- To allow sufficient time for processing, reactivations must reach HQ RMG Military Training well in advance of the 90-day expired limit.
-- Enrollments that have previously been reactivated for a 90-day period cannot be reactivated again.
-- If an enrollment has expired more than 90 days, reactivation is not possible; a re-enrollment must be requested.
CDC Re-enrollment Procedures:
Approval authority is the AFRC Functional Manager. Re-enrollment in a CDC must be requested by the Airman's squadron commander or equivalent, and follow the guidelines on the CDC Re-enrollment Example Letter. The letter must be in MS Word format and e-mailed to the HQ RMG Military Training section at rmg.dpmt@us.af.mil The request must fully document extenuating circumstances that justify re-enrollment. Any request for re-enrollment received at the HQ RMG Military Training section without proper approval or not in the correct format will be returned to the requester without action. Military Training will forward the re-enrollment request to AFRC/A1TS for coordination with the AFRC functional manager. Military Training will notify the requester of the functional manager's decision.
Note: Re-enrollments should be requested only for those students who do not have original course materials, or the cancellation has exceeded the 90-day timeframe or the edition of the course that the student was enrolled in is deactivated.
