Col. Mark J. Montee is the Director of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Robins Air Force Base, Ga. He is responsible for the guidance, direction, and oversight of the AFRC Unit and Individual Mobilization Augmentee intelligence program and is the command focal point for the planning and execution of operational intelligence support to 4th, 10th, and 22nd Air Forces comprising 62 flying units and more than 1, 400 aircrew members.

Colonel Montee commissioned in 1981 as a second lieutenant through the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps. He served as an armor tank platoon commander, executive officer and intelligence officer and deployed to Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield supporting ISR operations for the 24th Mechanized Infantry Division.

In 1991, Colonel Montee transferred to the Air Force Reserve as a traditional Reservist and has served in a variety of intelligence positions including chief of intelligence for special operations and airlift wings and director of intelligence for a joint special operations task force. He was the senior intelligence officer at 22nd Air Force before assuming his current position at Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, where he leads the planning, programming and stand up of critical ISR capabilities to meet priority Air Force and joint mission requirements.
