APPLICATION & ESSAYS

Go to the Georgia 4-H Camp and Event Registration Site and fill out the form at  www.georgia4H.org/afrangteensummit/

Application directions:

Create a user account - it's a 3 step process:

1. Select "Create Account for Parent" from the left hand menu and fill out the form. You will receive an email with an account activation code.
2. Click the link included in the email and paste the code into the form.
3. Enter your preferred password.

· Select the Summit you want to attend.
· Be sure to click the insert link on the left hand menu to get to the application form.

· More than one participant can apply using the same account.
 

The application is completely online. It is the applicant's responsibility to confirm receipt of complete application package. Application process starts January 16 and ends April 13, 2012.

Teens must respond to the essay questions on the application in under 500 words.

In your own words, define the term leadership. Describe your most significant leadership experience in the past 1-2 years.

You'll also be required to choose and answer one of the following essay questions:

1.  In recent studies the national average high school drop-out rate is reported at between 25%-33%. In other words, approximately one third of all students who start high school, never graduate. This trend has economic and social implications, both of which will impact the future of society in a negative fashion. Do you think this trend can be reversed, and what is the most effective strategy to have a positive effect on the current drop-out rate?

2.  In the White House report "Strengthening Our Military Families: Meeting America's Commitment", the President has made care and support of military families a top national security policy priority. Identify one challenge you face as a military family member and describe a potential solution to that challenge.

3. The Air Force has three Core Values: Integrity First; Service to Others Before Self; Excellence in All We Do. How do you live out these values in your daily life?
