Warthogs win battle in Warsaw

Instructor Staff Sgt. Steven Smith helps Senior Airman Phil Schneider, a student Joint Terminal Attack Controller, prepare coordinates to call in a simulated air strike during the class’s field training exercise south of Warsaw, Missouri on November 19. Academic portions of the class rely on JTACs playing the role of pilots in hypothetical missions, but the exercise gives students the opportunity to speak with experienced pilots from the 442d Fighter Wing over the radio in realistic scenarios. Warsaw has hosted the exercises since 1993. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Technical Sgt. Emily F. Alley)
