Communication Revolution: maintainers connect using IM, video chat
Master Sgt. Kevin Cecil, 459th Maintenance Group integrated avionics systems quality assurance inspector (right), provides tablet communication training to Airman Basic Michael Powers, 459th Maintenance Group crew chief (left), inside a hangar on the Joint Base Andrews, Md., flight line, May 26. Last week the 459th MXG obtained data connection on its tablets, which afforded access to communication applications such as instant messenger and video chat. This new capability allows maintainers to send imagery, instantly reach the shop or supervision, as well as discuss repair issues from separate locations in real-time through video stream.
