The Joint Reserve Intelligence Center, Minneapolis (JRIC) held a ribbon cutting ceremony here Friday. Rear Adm. Daniel MacDonnell, commander of the Naval Information Forces Reserve, hosted approximately 60 people at the event. Special guests included: Brig. Gen. Christie Nixon, Military Intelligence Readiness Command; Brig. Gen. Sandra Best, Minn. Air National Guard and representatives from all military services in the Minneapolis area.

The Ribbon Cutting ceremony celebrates the culmination of a $4.5 million, three-year renovation project to provide the Minneapolis-based Reserve Military Intelligence Community with a state-of-the-art facility to better enable intelligence operations and training.

The renovation allows personnel assigned to JRIC Minneapolis to provide robust and essential support to the military through remote intelligence support. It also provides a world-class training facility that prepares service members for mobilizations and deployments. The renovation highlights a smart and long-term investment strategy by the Navy and the intelligence community in our Joint Reserve Intelligence Force. This investment strategy ultimately benefits not just the military, but the American taxpayer as training can be provided locally.

The visit provided an opportunity for Admiral MacDonnell to meet and hear from local Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, and Marines and recognize well deserving personnel
JRIC Minneapolis is currently home to more than 300 active-duty, Reserve, National Guard, and civilian intelligence professionals from throughout the Midwest.
