Lt. Gen. John Healy, chief of Air Force Reserve, visited the 310th Space Wing for the first time in this role March 4-5.

During his visit, Healy met with representatives from each unit and received hands-on immersion briefings with the 380th Electromagnetic Warfare Squadron, 428th Electromagnetic Warfare Flight, 6th Space Operations Squadron, 7th SOPS and 19th SOPS. Healy also conducted a townhall and delivered the keynote speech at the annual awards banquet.

At the townhall, Healy explained that with an aviation focused career he was not intimately familiar with the space missions performed by the 310th, but throughout his visit he gained a detailed picture of the capabilities the 310th brings to the space domain and to our mission partners. He was left impressed by the level of expertise and professionalism he witnessed throughout the wing.

Healy went on to discuss the future of the 310th SW and its partnership with the United States Space Force, taking questions from the audience.

During the annual awards banquet, Healy spoke about his current task order and how they will be executed.

“My first official act when I took command, was to focus the (Air Force Reserve) on the need to build readiness to support warfighting against near-peer adversaries. As a command we will prioritize every dollar spent while providing leaders with flexibility to lead … we will operationalize the use of data analytics as a weapons system to build the tools and processes to ensure the resourcing go to the Airmen and the mission at the point of need,” said Healy.

The 310th SW delivers a diverse set of capabilities such as space domain awareness, missile warning intelligence, environmental intelligence and a host of other space base services. These services enable U.S. Space Command to execute global space operations in order to deliver space capabilities to combatant commanders, allied forces and the nation.

The 310th Space Wing is headquartered at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. Its units are assigned to Schriever, Peterson and Buckley Space Force Bases in Colorado, and Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
