Technical Sgt. Terence A. Kung was recently selected as the 2018 Air Force Reserve Command Outstanding Weapons Safety Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year.

Kung, a 446th Airlift Wing Weapons safety manager and Reserve Citizen Airman, received the award for his efforts supporting a safety investigation board team while deployed. Within 24 hours, Kung worked to provide critical information to the safety investigation board.

At home station here, Kung continued his track record of excellence with zero findings during a Unit Effectiveness Inspection.

“I’m so proud AFRC selected such a deserving Airman who went above and beyond while deployed,” said Col. Anthony P. Angello, 446th AW vice commander. “He performed with excellence under extreme pressure and assisted in a time-critical safety investigation. His superior efforts with the AFRC safety team are truly deserving.”

Kung acknowledged his efforts were not without hard work and support from his fellow Airmen.

“Now that the stress and pressure of this particular period is over, it is rewarding looking back at all that I was able to learn through these small accomplishments,” Kung said. “It feels great to be formally recognized for my efforts.”

Kung’s award package was forwarded to the Air Force Safety Center to compete at Air Force level awards. Additionally, AFRC will be sending trophies to units as recognition for the award.
