Thailand MAFFS training complete

Lt. Col. Corey L. Steinbrink, mission commander (center), and Chief Master Sgt. James D. Riley, chief loadmaster (right), with the Air Force Reserve’s 302nd Airlift Wing, present Special Group Captain (Brig Gen equivalent) Thawonwat Chantanagama, Deputy Director, Director of Operations, Royal Thai Air Force, with a replica tail flash to recognize completion of Modular Airborne Firefighting System training. The bright orange number “5” on the tail flash signifies the MAFFS unit number flown in the aircraft. More than 50 members of the RTAF attended the 302 AW-led training to increase their proficiency with the MAFFS system. Seven 302 AW members traveled to Thailand to provide expert training on safe and effective C-130 MAFFS operations. This event marks the first time the Air Force Reserve has sent delegates to train a foreign Air Force on use of the MAFFS equipment. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt. Jody L. Ritchie)
